Why add a laminate?
A laminate is a clear overlay film applied to your printed sticker or decal. It seals the ink in and keeps out water, UV rays, and scratches. Add it to any of our four featured materials and you get a fully waterproof, weatherproof sticker.
You can choose between gloss (high shine), matte (soft, no glare), or luster (somewhere in between). All three give you the same waterproof protection. The laminate also blocks UV light, so your colors hold up even after a few years of direct sun exposure.

Frequently asked questions
Four of our vinyl materials (StickleMe, Removable, Permanent, and Clear) become waterproof when you add a laminate finish at checkout. The laminate is a protective layer over the print that water, soap, and moisture can’t get through. Without laminate, our vinyl holds up well indoors but is not waterproof.
Yes. With laminate applied, our waterproof stickers are top rack dishwasher safe. We’ve run them through hundreds of high heat wash cycles with no fading, peeling, or color loss. Hand washing is gentler if you want maximum longevity on tumblers and water bottles, but the dishwasher is fine.
Waterproof means the sticker resists water, soap, and immersion. Weatherproof goes further with UV resistance, temperature stability, and protection against snow, rain, and freeze-thaw cycles. Our laminate finish gives you both, so a laminated sticker works just as well on a water bottle as it does on a truck bumper.
It depends on the material. Permanent and Clear vinyl with laminate hold up 3–5 years in full outdoor exposure. Removable vinyl is rated for 1–3 years. StickleMe is best for indoor use or light outdoor with the Outdoor Protection option. Indoors, all of them last pretty much indefinitely.
We’d go with Permanent vinyl and a gloss laminate. It bonds well to stainless steel, glass, and plastic, and the gloss finish makes colors pop. If you want to be able to swap stickers out later, Removable vinyl with laminate peels off clean and is a solid alternative.
