How well sticker adhesives adhere is dependent on a few different factors. Things like surface energy, temperature, and moisture levels can determine how well your decal will adhere and for how long.  If our support staff is ever uncertain which material will work best for your particular project, they may request that you do some testing using one of our free sample packs.

When testing different material samples on your surface, you will want to make sure the adhesive is secured to the surface on at least half the sticker, then tug on the sticker using a downward motion. If the sticker does not have a strong enough bond, the adhesive will release.

Wall Mural Testing

It’s important to test materials on surfaces that may have subtle textures or may have porous low surface energy types. To prevent a mural from failing please request a larger sample piece of the desired material(s) to find out the proper material for you or your installer to use for your wall graphics.

Wall Mural Tug Test

This is what will happen when the adhesive does not make full contact with the surface due to minimal contact points with the adhesives vs smooth surfaces.
